This chasm becomes obvious as soon as I get off the plane at Ruzyně or cross the Waidhaus / Rozvadov border into CZ. Every time we go to CZ we’re faced with rude, arrogant, unpleasant Czechs 🙁 I really don’t know where this rudeness comes from.
Having said that, the lady at the kiosk where you buy your dálniční známka or motorway sticker in the casino building was in fact VERY nice last time – so big thumbs UP for her. I can only assume that it’s the result of 40 years of totality and oppression, which has made the Czechs bitter, rancorous and spiteful.
If I do have a concern, it is that Walden's program are very rigorous compared to other institutions.
I have taken courses at Harvard and the University of Texas where I got my undergrad and I must say that Walden is more strenuous, in some courses, unnecessarily strenuous. Just be prepared to work hard on the doctorate level.
The wash outs are the ones writing a lot of these negative reviews because Walden didn't hand hold them enough. I have a 4.0 GPA working full time and attending full time (have 2 other honors degrees) and have found eight clinical preceptors on my own.
News flash - the world won't hold your hand or go find jobs for you either. It's completely doable but you need to own the challenge and the process. I am graduating with some extremely intelligent people but most of all, they are work ethic lions. I got a graduate degree in Higher Education (2016) and the program was very organized and structured with knowledgeable professors.
Not all the people that started the program with me are still with us.
Not only are the professors inconsistent with assignments and interpretation of APA, but when you disagree with a professor, you are then subject to having a poor grade. No matter what, there not looking out for the student, they are looking out for themselves!
If you want the opportunity to tailor your clinical education to suit your ideal future practice Walden University offers this! You will see great fluctuations in Walden reviews because, honestly, it's hard work.
Not everyone can keep up and it's easier to blame the school for your shortcomings.
Whatever’s happened to “Náš zákazník, náš pán – Our customer, our master”?
The difference between the Brits and the Czechs when it comes to politeness is like a giant chasm.
The good feeling that things may have changed was short-lived, though, as I was reminded by the toilet lady at a service station that I’m only allowed to take two bits of toilet paper or pay more money – how lovely 🙂 The rudeness is most obvious in shops where they just really couldn’t care less about you as customer. One can only hope that with the young ones travelling and getting to know different countries and cultures they will bring about a change and the next generations will be a little more positive, pleasant and happy.
